Title
Pronoms accentués and the pronoun en : undetermined person BCreator
Roger House and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL)Description
The pronoms accentués are used as exceptions to the regular use of the pronoun
en. Normally, if the noun to be replaced is preceded by some form of
de, the pronoun
en is used. However, if the noun following
de represents a person/people you can keep
de and use a pronom accenture (if it is a specific person). Or if it is an undetermined person
en is used.
In this audio clip we hear J'en ai besoin. ( I need some.) In this case the noun is an undetermined person so this was originally J'ai besoin d'amis. (I need friends.). This can be heard in the related resources below.
