Title
Pronoms accentués and the pronoun en : specific person ACreator
Roger House and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL)Description
The pronoms accentués are used as exceptions to the regular use of the pronoun
en. Normally, if the noun to be replaced is preceded by some form of
de, the pronoun
en is used. However, if the noun following
de represents a person/people you can keep
de and use a pronom accenture (if it is a specific person). Or if it is an undetermined person
en is used.
In this audio clip we hear J'ai besoin de mes amis. ( I need my friends.) In the related resource linked below you can hear the alternative to this using a pronom accentué : J'ai besoin d'eux. (I need them.)
