Description
Les nombres ordinaux - Ordinal numbers (first, second, etc.) are used for ranking or ordering things. In French, most ordinal numbers are formed by adding the suffix -ième to the corresponding cardinal number. The final
e must be dropped from numbers when they end with
e (quatre, onze, etc.). Premier / première are exceptions.
In this audio clip we hear huitième (eighth).
Note: For huitième (and onzième) the articles le and la do not elide, so you see le huitième and la huitième.
